In my last newsletter, I brought to your attention the mind blowing information about the DKM - the Reiki Master Symbol. Having now in my possession Doi Sensei's book "A Modern Reiki Method For Healing" (revised edition), I have learned that all roads lead to Mrs. Takata being the one who introduced it into the Western Reiki Tradition. Why is still not apparent. What I also found is that she didn't attune/teach her 22 masters until the last five years of her life. Another question, why did it take her so long to get to the point of making people Reiki Master Teachers? Have no clue.

<span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #505050; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px;">Another interesting fact is that Hayashi Sensei did go all the way to the Shinipedin level (Master), which only raises more questions about why we do attunements/initiations instead of Reiju to connect the student to the energy that is Reiki, which was the way and is the way that Usui Sensei connected his students to the energy and the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai still does.
<span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #505050; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px;">

<span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #505050; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px;">Doi also states that Usui Sensei opened the Gakkai, which was another mystery, some saying that Hayashi Sensei formed it after his death along with his other Naval Officer buddies. The first three presidents of the Gakkai were all Naval officers. I do remember reading that many of the Gakkai were very unhappy with the memorial society being inundated with them and mockingly began calling the Gakkai, "the officers club." Hayashi Sensei was asked to leave the Gakkai because of his radically tweaking the system and he went out and opened his own offices and wrote his own manual reflecting his more Western scientific/medical approach to Reiki.

<span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #505050; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px;">One thing I am finding very interesting about Doi Sensei's book is that most of the information on the history of Reiki he talks about, I already knew through Frank Arjava Petter's books and Taggart King's Reiki Manuals that he so generously gave me. So nice to see all of this info being confirmed over and over again.

.

Another interesting fact is that Hayashi Sensei did go all the way to the Shin-pedin level (Master), which only raises more questions about why we do atunements/initiations instead of Reiju to connect the student to the energy that is Reiki, which was the way and is the way that Usui Sensei connected his students to the energy and the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai still does.

Here a few little nuggets of info about Reiki that I felt were important and different enough from what I knew about Reiki to share with you:

1) Putting one hand over the other hand on an area you are treating makes the energy coming out of your hands there stronger.

2) Both the receiver and the practitioner (he calls the practitioner the sender) get "showered" with Reiki when giving Reiki during a session. "Healing begins when the sender puts his/her Reiki hands on a receiver and the necessary energy begins to flow into the receiver. At the same time, Reiki pours on both of them like a shower, and a swirl of Light surrounds them. The excess energy flows into the ground and they both get healed at the same time. The key for the smooth flow of Reiki is to just relax and feel the Love of the Universe."

3)"Reiki automatically adjusts the energy flow as and where needed; it supplies the shortage and clears away the excess." (never heard that before - about the excess!).

4) "Reiki keeps revitalizing the energy flow even after the healing" - he is talking here about people sometimes having a "reaction" after a Reiki treatment - possible having a pain sensation, temperature change in their palms, or an energy flow inside their body, or muscle twitching." He highly advises Reiki Practitioners to always inform their clients of these possibilities.
I just finished reading Frank Arjava Petter's book (The Legacy of Dr. Usui). It is an older book of his but somehow I hadn't gotten to it yet. He talks a lot in the later part of the book, about all the fighting and back biting in the Reiki world he and Chetna experienced (his wife) during the time he and she were teaching Reiki in Japan (in Sapphora). Many times he wanted to walk away from Reiki because of all this insanity but something always came up to keep him going.

Students they had taught turned on them, spread awful rumors about then, psychically attacked them, and more. When he published the book "REIKI FIRE' and announced to the world that Dr. Hayashi was not Usui's successor after his death

, all hell broke loose in the Reiki world and he received threats and hate mail, and more.

How incredible sad that even in the world of Reiki (the world of healers, Divine energy, love and compassion, the earth plane energy still gets to us and makes us monsters and egotists. Thank you Frank for hanging in there and continuing to bring us the "truth" about Reiki.

Did you know he and some of his people intensively photographed and video tapped Dr. Usui's Memorial stone in the cemetery where it is installed and spent countless hours with Chetna's parents and others who still spoke and understood the "old Japanese language" (which is what the stone is written in) to translate it for us. And was accused to making it all up?

So much is going on, I don't know where to begin! You might notice the I have a new logo for starters! And if you haven't been to my website lately, well let's just say you're in for BIG surprise!

I'm going to be writing today about some new information that has come in lately that I feel is worth sharing. First, I've always thought that just plopping a crystal around your neck, wearing a crystal/stone bracelet or earrings, or even carrying one in your pocket, was just not all there was to it.

I recently got crystal book fever and purchased several new ones - The Complete Idiots Guide to Crystals by Karen Ryan, and The Illustrated Directory of Healing Crystals by Cassandra Eason, but have just been introduced to The Encyclopedia of Crystals by Judy Hall. I have gotten a lot out of each and every one of these books, but Judy's book was the tipping point. By the way, I recommend ALL of them!

She answered my question! Yes you have to "activate" or "program" your stones if you want them to do whatever it is you are hoping to achieve by wearing or carrying them! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I'm running all over my house, grabbing up stones from each room and also using her methods on all the ones I wear daily.

It's really easy! First, you need to decide what it is you are wanting a stone to do for you: protect you, help you sleep better at night, repel spells, ill wishes and negative energies, take the pain away from wherever you're having pain, heal you of migraines, etc. Then use one of these awesome reference books (or Judy Hall's "Crystal Bible" or any of her books in this series), to figure out which crystal/stone would the best choice for this issue.

Next you have to de-program, clear and charge it. Now there are tons of ways to do this, which I'm not going into here but she does mention burying them in brown rice (which I'm experimenting with right now) as one option, especially for those few that can't be soaked in a salt water solution or buried in sea salt.

Then you simply hold your chosen stone in your non-dominant hand and hover your dominate hand over it, intending and visualizing your hands and the stone being surrounded in white light. This should only take a minute or so. Now have your programing message ready to go: Ex: I intend that I am programming this crystal/stone to help me get a better nights sleep" or to relieve my migraine, or to protect me psychic attack, ill wishes or spells and negative energies.

Continue holding it in your non-dominant hand, with dominant hand hovering over it, and say your programming intention out loud. You can end with "So be it, and so it is" if you like. That's it! If its jewelry, put it on or put it in a pocket.You'll need to clear, charge and re-program every so often of course.

I just LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE this!!!!!!!!!!! So get going and really utilize the full potential of all that healing power you have available to you with all those stones you have laying around all over your house or in your jewelry box!
Totally shocked me - my pendulum was going gangbusters, level with the floor!!!!!!!

I had had a client a day or two before with closed feet chakras, even after giving her a Reiki session, and doing some chakra balancing on her too. I was "told" by my guides to put the CKR (the First Symbol or some call it the Power Symbol) in the air in front of each of foot chakra and that would open them.

Sure enough, after a few seconds when I checked them again with my pendulum, they were wide open. What's interesting about this is that about a year or so ago, a woman asked to attend my Reiki shares who was trained by some people in Chicago, but she was living here at the time. She showed my students and I how to open the palm chakras the way she was taught by rubbing your palms together in a clockwise fashion first, and then drawing the CKR over them in the air (repeating their mantra 3 times, etc.)

I obviously didn't connect up the dots when she was explaining and demonstrating this to us. I thought the rubbing of the hands did the opening and you were just powering up your hands with the CKR. So now almost a year later, I GOT IT!!!!

The CKR can open all the chakras apparently. I read that you should draw the CKR in front of all your chakras before you do a Reiki session on someone. I thought it was for protection, not so! It opens all the chakras! BUT if you draw a great big giant CKR in front of you and jump into it, then it's for protection.

This has all been very eye opening. A few months ago, when I was assessing a new client's chakras, my pendulum would spin first one way (CW) and then the other (CCW) over and over. I'd never seen this before in all the years I've been using a pendulum to assess chakras, so I was at a loss to know what the heck this meant. I found out later that it meant the chakra was stuck. Wow, never heard of a chakra being stuck! Then I was working on someone else, and my pendulum just went to dead stop. Again, never saw that before. I'm not totally sure, but this is not a good thing at all - maybe indicative of some major disease pattern in the area, still working on that.

For some reason, the Universe is bringing me lots of new info, possibly as a result of the new meditation I do daily to clear all my chakras and energy bodies.
Many say it's unethical to send Distant Reiki Healing to someone who didn't ask for it. But would you not pray for someone because they didn't ask you to? Would you not pray that a Hurricane be lessened in strength, or that it go inland in a less populated area, or pray that rain comes to an area to put out the forest fires burning there because nobody gave you permission?

Do you consider Reiki to be like praying? Let's look at that. When we pray for someone we ask for healing or help for someone or some situation, knowing that God/Creator/Great Spirit, Buddha, etc., knows a lot better than we do what is in the best interests of that person or situation, and that what actually will happen is what is supposed to happen for them at that point in their life, or for that situation. Maybe it's a soul contract thing, maybe it's a wake up call for the person or the world, who knows, lots of maybe's there.

When we send Distant Reiki Healing to someone it's pretty much the samer depending on what you are taught. Some teachers say, however, that you shouldn't ask for any particular outcome, that you should just intend that Reiki flows out to the person/situation for their highest and best/greatest good. Other teachers, like Steven Murray of www.healingreiki.com, say you should use LOTS of intention - ask for total healing, ask for the fires to put out, ask that the hurricane to dwindle away into nothing, etc.

I've experimented with both ways and find actually that using lots of intention really powered up the "sending" as I call it. So does that mean I am interring with or manipulating the energy that is Reiki?
Is this interfering with destiny or anything else? All I know is it realllllllllllllllly flows out like mad when I do this, and not as much if I don't.

What if you passed a horrific car accident on your way to work one morning, would you stop to ask their permission to send them Reiki? How could you? You just do because you are compassionate and you can - it's impossible to ask their permission, just like it's impossible to ask 5,000 people permission who were affected by an earthquake or landslide if you have their permission to send them Reiki.

We also know that if someone doesn't want it, for whatever reason, they want to receive it. Additionally, we know that Reiki is an intelligent energy, it goes out and does what needs to be done whatever we intend, so how about drop all these rules and just send Reiki to those in need when we can.

Heart-Light-Reiki,LLChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07448780424774805209noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6841158557377342456.post-49147395208450676292017-09-24T05:23:00.003-07:002017-09-24T05:23:33.538-07:00DO'S AN DON'TSThere are a lot of Reiki teachers out there apparently teaching their students to not do Reiki on people for all kinds of crazy reasons. Here's a few:

when someone has broken a bone

when someone has a pacemaker (and they even go so far as to stipulate that only analog pacemakers, the new digital ones are OK (?)

to not to Reiki on pregnant women

when someone is a diabetic

not to send Reiki to someone when they are driving or operating heavy machinery

to not send Reiki to people without their permission

to not do Reiki on someone with cancer (Reiki feeds the cancer - oh come on!)

when someone is depressed

when someone is asthmatic

when someone is stressed

when someone is taking homeopathic remedies

do not give Reiki to animals

you should not treat young children

you should not treat people who are taking medications

Apparently there are more!

So the issue is, there is no proof that doing any of this is harmful. NONE! Show me if you got some!

This is all, again, fear based nonsense.

Heart-Light-Reiki,LLChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07448780424774805209noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6841158557377342456.post-10928527407511263362017-09-23T14:04:00.001-07:002017-09-23T14:04:12.708-07:00The Schizo World of ReikiI've been in several Reiki social media groups off and on over the years, and after the last two I am just astounded by all the differences that exist in all these Reiki lineages. Is there cleanse, how long does it last, what happens during it? Are there 3 Levels of training or 4? Is the energy that is Reiki Universal Life Force Energy or Divine Energy? Should those who are attuned to Reiki Level II be doing Reiki on the public and charging for it, or as in some lineages only Reiki Level IIIa's (Master Practitioners)?

Is the Power Symbol supposed to be drawn CW or CCW? Are you only supposed to be using 4 symbols if you go all the up through the levels to Master Teacher, or 7 as in some lineages, who separate the Master Level into Master Practitioner and Master Teacher. Can you use the Master Symbol (DKM for anything other than attunements, and at the Master Teacher level on yourself and for boosting Distant Reiki Healing?

And how the symbols are drown - lots of lots of variations on them, especially the HSZSN (the distant or connection symbol). Why? Why is someone else drawing the HSZSN this way, when my lineage or that lineage draws it differently? Do they all work? How can that be? They're different!!
But apparently they do, it all does.

Who came up with the idea that the cleanse starts in the base chakra and opens/clears and balances it and then moves up to the sacral chakra and does the same, each for 24 hours, and then moves up to the next and the next? Some lineages find this idea totally foreign, never heard of it, but yet I was taught that is how works and so I believe it and teach it. Is that real? Is that what is really happening?

And so on, and so on, and so on. So, in my opinion, this makes the world view Reiki as kind of schizo, and incredible disorganized, thus less valuable then a lot of other modalities like Healing Touch were everyone uses the same manual, teach the same things in every class, charges a lot more for training (and that's going up), and have a certification process the likes of which can be compared to presenting a Master's Thesis. I know, I'm a Level III Healing Touch Student!

The amazing freaking thing is that IT ALL WORKS!!!!!!!!! ??????????????????????????
This seemed to trigger fear in some peoples mind on social media. So what exactly does it mean to "merge with your client"?

Well, when two people are in close contact with each other, their energy fields are going to merge, there is just no way of getting around that, and we do it all the time and it's no big deal. So nothing to be afraid of there, unless you are in close physical proximity to someone really scary (murderer, rapist, terrorist) but what's the likelihood of that during a Reiki session?

I've heard some practitioners talk about feeling their hands disappearing into the body of their client (or at least that's how it feels to them). I've experienced that before. Didn't' scare me, was kinda cool. You might imagine that somewhere deep in their body really needs a lot of Reiki and your hands, on an energetic level, have descended into their body to facilitate even deeper healing. Our energetic hands are deep in their body anyway, remember we are merging energy fields or blending. So what's scary about that.

Well if you weren't taught that Reiki can do no harm, that you're not a healer, you're not doing anything but being a channel for the energy to flow through, you might have some fear come up around this because you start to think that you might get what they got (cancer, HIV, who knows).

So I tell my students to always be very clear in your mind, that while you're doing Reiki you are fully protected because Reiki is a one way flow, coming into your crown and after a while coming out of your hands. (That conversation depends on what your teacher taught you. I teach that Reiki comes into your crown, goes down to your heart center - chakra - out both your arms, and out your palms. Some teach it goes down to the Tan Tien which I don't understand and follow at all, but hey what do I know, I'm just following what I was taught).

People will always find things to be fearful about. It's unfortunate that their Reiki teacher isn't clearing this stuff up for them in the first place so that they're not going there, and that people on social media are spreading this around because of that.Heart-Light-Reiki,LLChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07448780424774805209noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6841158557377342456.post-72176067469128827032017-09-23T06:39:00.000-07:002017-09-23T06:39:17.229-07:00NEW WAY OF DOING THINGSThings keep coming up but I don't have the time to write great big articles on them. So I've decided to just write about stuff as it comes up.

I recently joined a Facebook group about Reiki. Someone in the group posted a statement about Reiki practitioners "blasting people in the head" when they put their hands on a receivers/clients crow/ top of the head. I was appalled by this statement. WE DO NOT BLAST PEOPLE IN THE HEAD! Then it came out this person doesn't even do Reiki and I was pretty darn sure said they weren't even Reiki.

Ah ha! When I started out doing Reiki over a decade ago for the public, a bunch of people from another energy modality were giving sessions around the same time, in the same space. We even hooked up once to do tandem sessions (people got a short one from me, and a short one from them.

I later found out the other healing modality was spreading lies about Reiki (threatened by it's efficacy and jealous of all the attention it (and I) were getting). They said that we "pushed energy" into people and "manipulated their energy". Both absolute and total falsehoods, designed to scare the public, and put them off about Reiki.

So UNIVERSE, WORLD MY BLOG READERS, ETC., Reiki practitioners do not blast people in the crown when they place their Reiki hands on someone's crown. In fact, it's so soothing and relaxifying (haha I made up a word) that a lot of people fall asleep from it. If anybody tells you that we are, they are liars and are threatened by the amazing power of Reiki and it's miraculous benefits. So runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn the other way. Heart-Light-Reiki,LLChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07448780424774805209noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6841158557377342456.post-91912146916197542522017-07-15T07:18:00.001-07:002017-07-15T07:19:50.593-07:00THE INFAMOUS "REIKI 21 DAY DETOX/CLEANSE

I did some research on peoples reactions to the “cleanse” or
detox they go through after a Reiki attunement.
What I found most intriguing is that so many people reported having
bowel issues. I don’t know if they
were too embarrassed to tell me this
before or just figured it was just part and parcel of the cleanse (hence the
name), but many of my students had not shared this information with me
previously. I didn’t make a big deal
about this particular side effect in class either, which rules out
auto-suggestion.

So if you wanted proof that an attunement elicits a cleanse,
talk to all of these people who are reporting this side effect with theirs. Others reported a lot of fatigue, being
unusually emotional, feeling ungrounded, mild headaches and feeling angry and
crabby.

Also, many people come to me to retake Reiki training for
several reasons. One they may have moved
here from another area and only took Level
One or Two (I & II) from a teacher where they used to live and wish
to move up a level or two through me, or they were very unhappy with their
local teacher and wish to continue their training with somebody else and have
chosen me. I require that they be
re-attuned to whatever levels of training they’ve already had and retake all
the classes they’ve already gone through, to bring them up to speed with the
way I do things, and the information I bring to the table, at a greatly reduced
rate. Then they can go on and advance to
the next level/s they want to through me.

The main reason I require them to retake all the levels they’ve
already been trained to is that we give 5 symbols at Level II in both my
lineages (how my teachers and I trace our connection back to the originator of
Usui Reiki, Dr. Mikao Usui), and many other teachers only give 3 (the three traditional
Usui Reiki symbols). We also give two
more at Level IIIa (Master Practitioner), which again is particular to both my
teachers lineages, and another at Level IIIb (Master Teacher). I have also added a lot of things into my
Reiki classes that you won’t get anywhere else.

People being re-attuned report going through another cleanse
and having amazing shifts and even deeper levels of understanding, like
incredible insights into very old issues they’ve struggled with for
decades. Definitely the re-attunements
are rocking their world and opening their eyes to changes they need to make in
order to be more aligned with their souls purpose (soul contract/a persons “task”
this lifetime, etc.).

Additionally, many of my clients have reported bowel issues
after Reiki sessions, something I wasn’t aware was that common, but apparently
it is. Six months later or even a year
or so later they might mention it to me in passing but didn’t bring it up when
it happened, again assuming it was just to be expected, but I had not mentioned
that it was a possibility.

So I asked the members of my Facebook Reiki group what they’re experience has been around this issue, and hands down everyone agreed that it does, or they’ve heard that it does at least.

Personally, it does not happen to me except when a client is seated across from me and we’re in conversation. Obviously, they came to me in need of healing. and they’re in my office, so…

I’ve heard some almost horror stories about this. Some of my students are nurses and they’ve found themselves on fire practically from the heat coming out of of their hands (and body), even sweating, when they are walking around on their ward in the hospital, and they weren’t told this would happen from their first teacher (they came to me to be retained as their first teacher wasn’t meeting their needs or expectations). Needless to say, they were scared and freaked out about it.

So why does this happen, and how do most people feel about it? Some people are totally cool with it, they feel the more healing for whomever or just for us all or the planet, the better. But some people find it irritating, annoying and kinda scary.

Others have said they just direct it towards the Earth to heal the planet. But why does this happen? Well one theory is that when you agreed to become Reiki (take a class and be attuned or connected to the energy that is Reiki), you sort of made a statement to the Universe (Spirit) that you wanted to be a healer, a channel for the energy to heal whomever: anytime, anyplace, anywhere, anyway.

Another theory is that there is an intelligence to Reiki, it knows where to go and what to do, so it just does. It’s just doing it’s thing! I don’t really have any absolute answers to this issue. Just like a lot of things about Reiki, or just about anything else for that matter, there are just a lot of things we can’t understand or know in these human bodies, with our human brains, in the 3rd dimension.

The obvious being there is no way an infant, toddler or even a 5-10 year old is going to lie down on a massage table for an hour or longer and be still while the practitioner gives them a Reiki treatment. Interestingly enough, this applies to animals as well in a way. You can’t expect a dog or cat, especially one who doesn’t even know you, to hold still while you go through a set of hand positions on it for even a few minutes.

I see newborns as coming in with a clean slate (no emotional baggage yet), so why would they need a full hour treatment in the first place. Granted there may be birth trauma, or some kind of congenital issue that immediately needs to be addressed at birth (preemie, heart issue, spina bifida, etc.),but a healthy, normal baby as the result of a healthy, normal delivery is not going to require very much Reiki unless it catches a cold, flu, has had a shot or incurred an injury of some sort.

So in most cases we’re talking about “spot” treating around infants and small children (hands on face for toothache, hands on tummy for a tummy ache, hands on knee for an “owie”, etc.), or maybe just intending that Reiki is flowing to them as you breast feed them (through your hands). I know of one mother who would hold her hand up to the side of the breast she was nursing out of while the baby was nursing, intending that Reiki flow out of it into the breast, into the milk, and into the baby.

I instruct mothers to send distant Reiki to their children while lying in bed, who are having trouble settling down for the night, or who wake up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep.

As for pets, mostly I will be referring to cats and dogs. A bird can be given Reiki by placing your hands on either side of it’s cage or just sending it Reiki, same with a gerbil, hamster, fish, turtle, etc. Cats reactions to Reiki however seem to differ from those of dogs. There is a story I tell my students about cats – if you have more than one cat at home, when you get back home after a Reiki attunement you might have two different reactions – one cat might rub up against you and want Reiki all the time, and the other might get it’s back up and run away from you as if you've grown two horns and a tail. The later does eventually come around when it’s gotten used to the fact that whatever is different about you now is OK, and sees the other cat getting all that marvelous Reiki, especially when it cuddles up with you while you’re doing your daily self-treating.

Dogs are so into pleasing us that they could care less that you’ve just been attuned to Reiki and just like some cats, will be all over you when you are doing your daily Reiki self-treating, or may even come up to you and ask for Reiki, giving you a paw, presenting a hip, etc. THEY JUST LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE REIKI! They’re like “Reiki Sponges”.

There are marvelous books out on Reiki with animals by Kathleen Prasad and Elizabeth Fulton if you are interested in taking that route with your Reiki hands. They explain in great detail, how to approach the animals and have diagrams of hand positions for multiple types of animals. I like the fact that they come from a very respectful position with the animals, meaning that we have forced so many animals into domestication, controlling what they are allowed to eat, where they are allowed to evacuate, sleep and so on. So that it might be perceived by an animal that we are just forcing one more thing on them when we try to give them Reiki. I just love how they handle this!
Heart-Light-Reiki,LLChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07448780424774805209noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6841158557377342456.post-46626232616002551182017-05-04T06:41:00.001-07:002017-05-04T06:41:07.678-07:00ASKING PERMISSION BEFORE SENDING DISTANT REIKI HEALING

There’s a lot of controversy in the Reiki world about “
asking permission” when sending Distant Reiki Healing to someone. If you
don’t know what Distant Reiki Healing is, it can be thought of as a form of
prayer, except that we send Reiki healing energy to whomever is in need of
healing. Sending Distant Reiki Healing is
a process that Reiki Practitioners perform in a ritualistic way using
particular Reiki symbols whose vibration and purpose are to do specific things
that have healing frequencies, or open a portal of sorts that allows the energy
to flow to the intended person or recipient.

It is necessary for us to ask permission telepathically or
energetically from the person we are
sending the healing energy to unless they have requested it. Many times a family member or friend will ask
us to send Distant Reiki healing energy to someone who has no knowledge of the
request, or even what Reiki is. Their belief system may not be aligned with
Reiki, and that’s why asking permission is so important.

When we pray for
someone, we can ask for whatever outcome we wish, knowing somewhere deep inside
that God/the Creator/Great Spirit (whatever you want to call him/her) knows
what’s best for the person with the issues, so what’s best for them will take place, no
matter what outcome we desire.

One issue that comes up around this however is their soul
contract. A person may have a soul
contract that this lifetime they will contract some form of cancer and die from
it, experiencing all that there is to experience from having this disease and
going through the death process of having it as a way to grow their soul. We come on to the Earth Plane to learn
lessons to grow our soul. We will
experience every form of disease and death and be every race, religion and
gender and so on, in endless cycles of death and rebirth for this purpose. Reiki will not interfere with their contract,
no matter what we intend.

Reiki cannot interfere with someone’s contract and heal them
of cancer, or horrific damage to the body after a near fatal car accident, or a
heart attack so severe that there is no way their heart in that state can
become whole again, if it is not in their contract to do so. Some practitioners may say something like “ I
am sending Distant Reiki Healing to _______
for (whatever issue it is they
have) with their permission, intending that Reiki flow for their highest and
greatest good.” Others feel
that we can ask permission from their higher self or soul, Ex: “with
permission from their higher self or soul”, in order to bypass the ego
mind. However, many practitioners
feel that asking permission of ones soul
this way is a violation and therefore feel it‘s improper or cheating in a way. I’ve
also heard that it can produce some form of negative karma for
the practitioner.

I think it’s up to the individual Reiki Practitioner how
they want to handle this issue. I
personally say “with their permission”,
and that’s what I teach my students.

There is an understanding in the Reiki world that Reiki enhances whatever gifts or talents you came in with this lifetime. And the longer you are Reiki, the more Reiki you do on yourself and others, and the more Distant Reiki Healing you send, the more those gifts and talents are enhanced. But Reiki will not give you what you don't have. If you are not an Intuitive already, Reiki will not make you one.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
That being said, I have found that there a lot of Reiki Practitioners who are Intuitives, meaning they pick up or receive information about the person they are giving Reiki to, and in many ways. They either "hear" things, "see" things, or "know" things (clairvoyant, clairaudient, or clairsentient or claircognizant), and some even have the gift of "smelling" things (clair scent).

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
The degrees of which one has these gifts varies greatly, one may have a combination of several, or just one or two of them, or all of them and be a Medium to boot.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
So what does one do with all of this information? I teach that one should be very discerning about what one shares with their client, or whomever it is they are working on that they receive information on/for. Meaning that you would never want to share anything that may be perceived as frightening or scary, such as "you're going to have a heart attack", or "you have cancer."

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
We must be discerning for several reasons. One, we can never guarantee that what we are getting is genuine or just our ego mind talking. And two, you could be sued and put out of business if you tell someone they say need to get to a cardiologist fast and the cardiologist finds nothing after the person has been scared out of their wits, and spent a fortune on multiple, and invasive tests.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
So you might be wanting to know, at this point, what kinds of information does one typically receive if one is an Intuitive (by the way I am purposely using the word Intuitive, rather than Psychic). We don't want to give the world the impression that we are weirdos or nutty do we.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Many Intuitive Reiki Practitioners receive information like where there is an issue in the body of their receiver (client) that the receiver hasn't told them about it, if the receive is dehydrated, or needs to be taking a particular supplement, or needs to exercise more. Or they might be told about a possible medical condition that could come up for the receiver if they don't change their diet, or get some medical intervention (blood work, urinalysis, etc).

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
They also might having a knowing about what Power or Spirit Animal is working with the receiver at this time, what crystal or stone they need to be working with right now, or what essential oils might be of benefit to them right now, or what flower essences they might need to work with. They might also have a knowing as to what crystals/stones the Practitioner should put on the receiver's body during the session, or where and how the Practitioner's hands should be placed on the body, other than the usual set of hand positions. They might also "hear" or "know" what the receiver's Guardian Angel's name is, or what one of their guides name is and what they look like.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Or, if they are are Medium, they might see or know that a loved one who has crossed over is in the room with the practitioner and receiver, and has messages for the receiver.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
I'm sure there is a lot of other information that is possible for an Intuitive Reiki Practitioner to receive also that I haven't mentioned.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Don't get me wrong, if you haven't had Reiki from someone who is an Intuitive and therefore have not had the benefit of having all this kind of information being shared with you, it does not mean that the non-intuitive practitioner's session are of less value. All Reiki sessions are of tremendous value and assistance.

I have found, over the years and having read over 70 or more Reiki books, that these hand positions will vary greatly depending on who your teacher is.

The initial set of "holds" are just your foundation positions so you have a grasp of where it is best to place your hands when doing a full body Reiki treatment on someone else or yourself, and they generally correspond to the 7 major chakras (root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown) and all the major organs and major joints of the body, and the brain.

Once you've been doing Reiki for awhile however, you are encouraged to move beyond the foundational positions and go to where you feel guided or lead to go, or just have an intuitive knowing that your hands need to be here or there, in a special way, not necessarily the way you were taught.

Including the chakra system into Reiki treatments was not really a part of the original system beginning with Dr. Mikao Usui, the creator of the system. No one is really sure when or who added them in, but we could safely say sometime after Mrs. Takata's time, probably through one of the people she attuned to Reiki Master Teacher before she passed in the '90's.

SWEEPING THE AURA: You are also taught in Level I how to "sweep" the aura (biofield, energy field) of your client after a Reiki treatment. Again, there are a myriad of ways to do this, some even involving using crystal wands, feathers, singing bowls and even drumming. Typically though the hands are "raked" or "combed" through the energy field of the receiver (person you are giving Reiki to) from head to toe, and this is performed a minimum of 3 times. I like to think of it as removing the "dust bunnies."

It's done by dragging or raking your hands over the body with the intention of removing any dirty or negative energy from the aura that might have been released during the session, or that they might have come in with, and then you may do several different things with it. Some throw what they've removed into a candle flame, some into a Violet Flame they've mentally constructed, and others send it up to the light to be transformed to a more healing energy for whatever you'd like to send healing energy to.

You start by sweeping from above the head (remember energy field starts several feet above the top of the head) to several feet past their physical feet also. Additionally make sure you are taking your hands way out to their sides, as the aura extends several feet out on the sides of the body as well, not just above and below it.

In another energy medicine modality I'm trained in, we do this BEFORE we start a healing session. I like the idea, kind of starting with a clean slate!
<h3 style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.85098); font-family: "Source Sans Pro", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 28px; margin: 2.4rem 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
I've heard a lot of Reiki people say that when you've been Reiki for awhile, you don't really need to add symbols into the mix anymore, that the energy will just "take care of business" or something to that effect. If you don't know what I'm alluding to, in the Reiki World, there are three traditional "symbols" given at the second level of training called Reiki Level II or Reiki Second Degree. These symbols effect the energy in several ways, have a purpose and are really rather remarkable and necessary.

<h3 style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.85098); font-family: "Source Sans Pro", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 28px; margin: 2.4rem 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
The first one is the "Power" symbol, which is said to amp up the power of the energy (like stepping on the gas). The second one is the "Mental/Emotional" symbol which is good to use for issues like anxiety, depression, ADD, ADHD, over thinking, monkey mind, anything involving the mind. The third one is the "Distant" symbol which is all about being able to send Reiki to any person, place or thing, past, present or future, sort of a like a portal. We can use them on our clients or ourselves to help to facilitate deeper healing or we can use them to send Distant Reiki to people, pets, and all kinds of other things (kind of like praying).

<h3 style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.85098); font-family: "Source Sans Pro", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 28px; margin: 2.4rem 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
I've been Reiki, meaning I took the training and have been attuned (connected) to the energy since 2004. In my lineage, which is how we trace our connection back to the original creator of the system Dr. Mikao Usui, we are given 5 symbols at Level II. One is for issues of the heart like grief, and the other is for karmic and interdimensional issues, and for those who were abused in any way as a child. We are also given another one at Level IIIa (Master Practitioner) which magnifies the karmic one and takes the healing much deeper. The additional symbols are called non-traditional symbols meaning we know that Dr. Usui did not use them but somehow they ended up being a part of our lineage.

<h3 style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.85098); font-family: "Source Sans Pro", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 28px; margin: 2.4rem 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Ways we can use them are we can draw them over the body in the energy field of our clients or ourselves and send Reiki through them, or we can draw them on our palms and pat them in before we put our hands on others or ourselves to channel Reiki, or we can visualize our "etheric" or energetic hand drawing them inside the body of ourselves or others and more, and use them to send Distant Reiki Healing.

<h3 style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.85098); font-family: "Source Sans Pro", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 28px; margin: 2.4rem 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Yesterday morning, I woke up with pain in my left SI joint, so I put my hands in the area and began giving it Reiki, but not much was going on. Then I tried adding the Power Symbol and the Mental/Emotional symbol, still not much going on. Then I put in two non-traditional symbols, (the one for karmic issues and the one that magnifies that one) and then things cranked up! I've had this kind of experience many times, not only on myself but on clients and when sending Distant Reiki. So I definitely do not agree that at any point we can just let go of the need to use the symbols, maybe we just need to be doing more experimenting with them.

One of issues that arises frequently in the Reiki World is that everybody is doing something different and calling it Reiki. So I thought I'd mention some points that I feel are universal to most Reiki practitioners, not only for validation and confirmation for Reiki Practitioners, but to educate the public when they are considering having Reiki sessions.

Setting An Intention: It's a good idea before you start a Reiki session that either your client mentally sets an intention for what they would like to be the results of the session, or that you and the client set an intention out loud before they perform a Reiki session in their space. I used to have my clients just set it mentally, but now we set it together and I feel it is much more powerful.

Phantom Hands: Occasionally a client will report feeling other hands on them other than yours during a session, or feeling like your hands are still in the area you were just in but you've moved to a different area. Some practitioners refer to this phenomenon as "phantom hands". Many of us were taught and believe that there are Spirit Guides, Angels, Archangels, Ascended Masters (Jesus, Mother Mary, Quan Yin, Buddha, etc.) working side by side with us when we channel or run Reiki. Explaining this to your client can be tricky if they are not into "woo woo" stuff , so you'll have to decide who is comfortable with this explanation and who isn't.
Setting Sacred Space:
It is the job of every Reiki practitioner to make sure that the space they perform their healing work in has been cleared of negative, lower vibrational energies, etc., before they start each healing session and after. There are a myriad of ways to do this, either involving smudging with sage or some kind of incense, or using specific Reiki symbols that are drawn in the air in all the corners, walls, ceiling and floor of the room.

Disconnecting from Your Client after the Session: There is an energetic cord established between the practitioner and the client as the practitioner's and the client's energy fields merge during the session. After the session, this cord needs to be severed. You can do several things to accomplish this: Running cold water over your hands, even up to your elbows after they've gone, or do a ritual called "Dry Brushing" or "Kenyoku", or place your hands on yourself somewhere and just run Reiki for about 10-15 minutes. You can also smudge yourself if you know how to do that.

Grounding Your Client at the end of the Session: Offering a glass of water right after you get your client sitting up when their session is over is pretty standard procedure. It grounds them (they might be pretty spacey after the session, especially if they were sleeping through most of it). You may also offer them some chocolate or have them hold some grounding crystals, but you never let them just stand right up immediately after the session, they might fall or stumble.

Instructions for After Their Session: Reiki is detoxifying, so it's a good idea to instruct your client to drink lots of extra fluids after their session for the next 48-72 hours to help move those toxins along through the system. Also many people say that the night after having a Reiki session they sleep better than they have in a long time and may have vivid dreams.

There are a lot more of this little "tips" I could put up here, but I think I'll save them for the next article!Heart-Light-Reiki,LLChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07448780424774805209noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6841158557377342456.post-80089805819395780612017-03-10T06:05:00.002-08:002017-03-10T06:05:40.208-08:00HOW TO USE A REIKI BOX

Sending Distant Reiki Healing to those in need is part and parcel of being a Reiki Practitioner and this skill is learned in Level II traditionally of Usui Reiki. I recently got asked about how it's done and when I looked it up on Google I found a lot of what I considered to be false, misleading or just plain wrong information and explanations. Some people say that there are always many ways to do the same thing, and in the Reiki world that is true of almost everything about it. So I just wanted to put it out there what I was taught and how I do it and teach it.

Find a box that would be suitable to hold small pieces of
paper and also that you will be able to hold in your hand comfortably. A stationary or greeting card box works well
or small wooden jewelry box. You can
decorate your box anyway you like – paint it, glue on small stones or shells,
put glitter on it, glue pictures to it, cut out pictures of the Reiki Symbols
from the internet and paste those on or draw or paint your own and glue them on it, whatever you feel drawn to do with your box – make it yours, get creative!

Begin by writing the persons name that you wish to send Reiki to (first name, last initial)
on a small piece of paper, along with a brief description of the situation that you are sending Reiki for, and
their location if you have it, and who asked for the Reiki to be sent if they didn't. Date the piece of paper in the upper right
hand corner.

Whether you’re sending Reiki out to one person or multiple people the formula is the
same. Connect to Reiki in whatever way your teacher has instructed you to do so and place the piece of paper in your non-dominant hand. Then draw the Power Symbol, the Mental/Emotional Symbol and the Distance Symbol, in that order above the paper, saying their mantras 3 times while
visualizing them and then send Reiki into the paper by hovering your dominant
hand above it about two to three inches, and send Reiki through the
symbols into the paper.

When you sense that the process is complete, place the paper
into the box. If you’re doing more than
one "sending" (meaning sending Reiki to one person), do the same to all the other pieces of paper and place them all in
the box, one at a time. Then close the box, place it in
your non-dominant hand, draw all those Reiki symbols over the box again and Reiki the box as described
above (a 5-15 minute process). Repeat
for seven days, and at the end of seven days, take out the papers and re-evaluate the situations.

If more Reiki is required after the 7 days, simply change
the date on the paper and start the process again. If their situation has improved or healed, burn the pieces of paper or shred them.

You can have as many pieces of paper in the box as you want, or as few. Just remember to check the
dates often and remove those that have been in the box for over a week and you feeel their situations have improved or healed, and burn or shred them. I feel it is very
important to burn the requests afterwards.
It solidifies the process and is more respectful to the situation that
just tossing the papers into the trash.
I also feel that burning it has further healing effect, seals in the healing energy possible or sends one last major shot of energy out to them!

Finding ones TRIBE is so necessary and so needed among Lightworkers on the planet right now. If your family members and friends make fun of or patronize you around the things that you love, that light you up, or worse, it makes for a lonely journey.

Finding a teacher who holds regular Reiki Shares/Circles is one way to help you connect with like minded individuals and to have a save space to talk about all your awesome experiences, ask questions, answer a question for someone else, or maybe strike up a friendship so you two can regular chat on the phone or met for coffee/tea, or do trades.

Maybe forming a group of your own for just discussion? Find your tribe! Feel accepted and understood!!!!!!!!!!!
They asked that we practice the techniques we learned in class without incorporating any other healing modalities. Well, this a big problem if you are Reiki.

Reiki activates (as we call it "turns on") whenever we touch another person or ourselves with the intention of healing happening, whether or not we've consciously perforated any ritual or commanded it to do so. It just turns on.

Reiki is said to be an intelligent energy, so we can surmise that it has somehow made the determination that when we place our hands on another body for the purpose of healing, it activates. But what or who is the entity involved behind Reiki that is making this determination?

Two of my students that have been retrained by me and were originally trained by someone else, claim that they can just walk by an ailing individuals room (they are both nurses) and they will suddenly became very aware that Reiki has turned on and is flowing strongly from their hands (possible whole body) to the patient in that room. This flips them out, and I can't say I blame them. They have no control over what's taking place, which is very disconcerting as you can imagine. I mentioned that they were originally trained by someone else for a reason. They feel that whatever the other person did when she attuned them, caused them to have this issue. However, occasionally one of the students I have trained mentions this happening to them too. It doesn't happen for me though.

So what's going on here? We just don't know. I did hear a rumor once that Reiki has some ties with crossed over spirits/souls, as far fetched as that sounds. One of the translations of the Japanese kanji characters for Reiki mentions "spirit directed" energy. So maybe those spirits involved in the Reiki system are making the determination to have it come on?

Many of us say prayers or invocations when we are about to perform a Reiki session to call in the Spirit Guides, Angels, Archangels, Ascended Masters or other enlightened beings (even Mother Father God for some), who work with us when we channel Reiki to be present to assist us, protect us and guide the session. So there is some kind of link to the world of spirits that I mentioned earlier .

I can't fathom any other explanation. Could energy just have an intelligence of it's on? How? Heart-Light-Reiki,LLChttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07448780424774805209noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6841158557377342456.post-40010340308073347192017-02-15T04:38:00.001-08:002017-02-15T04:38:58.210-08:00HOW TO STAY FOCUSED WHEN CHANNELING REIKI<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">

Then I realized I didn't explain just how to do so, so here is my attempt to do just that.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<em style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; font-family: Georgia, "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 0.975em; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">If you meditate you will be able to grasp this immediately, if you don't, you might want to consider taking it up. When you sit in formal mediation you focus your mind on something like the breath, a sound or a word or phrase (mantra). I'm not talking about visualization meditation, that is very different and is not considered "formal" meditation. It's nice for relaxation, etc, but very different results wise.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<em style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; font-family: Georgia, "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 0.975em; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">As you sit there trying to focus the mind on a singular thing, you will begin to notice that the "mind" takes you off somewhere: to the phone call you just had, the laundry list of things you need to do after you meditate, a memory from the past, and a zillion other things. That's the job of the mind, to create thought - 24/7. Your job in meditation is to bring the focus of your thoughts/mind back to the object of your meditation (breath/sound/mantra). Thich Knat Hanh (famous Vietnamese Buddhist Monk who published many books and CD's, Dvd's on Mindfulness Meditation) stated that bringing the mind back to the focus of your meditation 1,000 times is meditation.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<em style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; font-family: Georgia, "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 0.975em; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant: inherit; font-weight: inherit; line-height: inherit; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">So you see, this is not an easy task. But just as in meditation, when you are channeling Reiki for someone and sitting there trying to focus on what is going on in your hands, under your hands, in the receiver's body and what you are feeling, seeing, and knowing, you are in a constant struggle with the mind that wants to take you off to your vacation plans, the news, your aches and pains, struggles with your marriage, etc.,etc.etc). So your goal is to keep coming back to your hands, to their body, to the feelings, to the guidance, over, and over and over.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
I have been aware for a long time (I've been doing Reiki professionally for over a decade) that I enter very deep meditative states when I channel Reiki, because I AM FOCUSED and stay focused. Yes, my mind does wander, that is to be expected, but the moment that I am aware of it, I bring my awareness back to my receiver, my hands and what I'm feeling, sensing and knowing.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
One of the many benefits from doing this is that it is much more likely that you will receive guidance during the session as you focus and quiet your mind - only when you quiet the mind can you hear guidance, a well known fact.

She lives over an hour away and winters are deadly in Wisconsin, so she's been seeing locals for Reiki. Her chief complaint about them is she just knows they may have their hands on her body intending to be channeling Reiki for her, but their minds are not in the room.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
I cannot tell you how disappointed and disgusted I am to hear this. A practitioner who does this sort of thing is likely to have been poorly trained, or just don't get it at all. When we are channeling Reiki for our clients we need to be absolutely focused on what we're doing. THIS IS PARAMOUNT AND A ABSOLUTE MUST.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
First of all both she and I are highly Intuitive. We're going to know if you are not focused on the task at hand. We're going to know that the session is inferior and we're getting ripped off. How? You have to focusing on what's going on in your hands, under your hands, what's going on with your client, and what you are "hearing", "seeing", "knowing" and "feeling" in order to give your client the maximum experience that they are paying you for. You can't do that if you are sitting their thinking of a laundry list of stuff you are going to do after the session, or tomorrow or the next day, or the argument you just had with your kids, friend or partner, or how bored you are just sitting there with your hands on a body.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Your job as a practitioner is to be "totally" there for your client. Again, either you were trained improperly and this wasn't stressed enough, or you're just lazy and don't get the importance of this. You need to be able to report back to your client what you were experiencing during the session, and what you were aware of they were experiencing, and be open to any guidance you are getting on where your hands needs to be, what symbols you need to be using, etc., and if you are an Intuitive, what kind of spiritual guidance you are receiving. All of which you cannot get or do when you are checked out!

<span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #656565; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 13px; text-align: center;">Diane Stein in her book "Essential Reiki" was the first person to openly display them for all to see, angering and disgusting the Reiki world. Now you can find them openly on Google, also as GIF's and Meme's, and in many books on Reiki, as well as how to <span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #656565; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 12px; text-align: center;">perform<span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #656565; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 13px; text-align: center;"> the attunements, something <span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #656565; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 12px; text-align: center;">even<span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #656565; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 13px; text-align: center;"> more unethical and disrespectful<span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #656565; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 13px; text-align: center;"> than just making the symbols public.
<span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #656565; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 13px; text-align: center;">In my opinion, this is nothing but blatant greed and self aggrandizement - profiting off of the sale of the sacred and secret knowledge of Reiki for noting but your gain. It has nothing to do with the "oh let's share everything with everybody for the good of planet" do gooder's. Yes we need to get the word out about Reiki to help everyone heal and the planet, but this has nothing to do with that - not at all - anything to make a buck - ANYTHING!
<span style="background-color: #fafafa; color: #656565; font-family: "helvetica"; font-size: 13px; text-align: center;">When did this attitude and behavior become the norm and acceptable conduct for anyone who claims to be a Reiki Practitioner? Just another sad state of affairs that we are finding ourselves in in many countries all across the globe, from stealing public lands and peoples savings, to slaughtering endangered species and posting pics of yourself on Facebook with their carcasses ANYTHING TO MAKE A BUCK. ANYTHING - nothing is sacred, nothing is respected, and to hell with ethics and morality.
I've been a certified Crystal Healer for years, along with being a Stone Grid Master Practitioner. I've made dozens and dozens of grids. If you're interested in seeing some, check out my Pinterest page:

https://www.pinterest.com/rnbwoman/my-crystal-grids/

Recently, I joined a Facebook Crystal Grid Makers group and have had an absolute revolution of new grid thought hit me big time. Making a grid is making a piece of art. As I have always been an artist at heart, it makes sense that I am so drawn to do them, but the things I'm learning in this group are a quantum leap above the simple "in the box" grids I'd been doing and I'm loving it! The use of feathers, shells, crystal/stone pendants, bracelets or necklaces, a boat load of different grid foundations and patterns, and the latest - taking the theory of the "unified field" into grid making, has really blown my mind.

Many of the other grid makers in the group use hundreds of little tiny crystal/stone chips in their grids, something I've never ever heard of or seen before. I didn't understand how you could possible do this (if you understand how to connect up all the grid crystals/stones using a laser wand, you'll understand my confusion). So I started asking questions, and boy oh boy, a whole new way of making a grid has grabbed me and I'm now building up my own collection of tiny pieces of stones and crystals.

So what is the "unified field theory"? As I understand it, when two stones/crystals touch, they start to act as one. They come into the resonance with each other and you might say, double their energy. So when you have dozens or even hundreds of the same crystal all packed in together in a gird (see my example) you get a "unified field". Instead of using two, there or four or so crystals to bring in the energy of say a rose quartz, you make a whole circle of rose quartz chips around your focus stone, to bring the energy of rose quartz in to your grid. Very powerful, much more so than a few pieces circling the focus stone. It's magical, and I'm loving it!

Another thing about crystals/stones that has came into my awareness recently is the necessity of removing their old programming before you can work with them. I was reading a book on the Native American way of doing Crystal Healing and the author mentioned the importance of doing this and a whole new way to do it I've AGAIN never heard of. In order to remove the old programming from a crystal or stone, you need to soak in a mixture of either distilled water, spring water or (last resort) filtered water, with a pinch of SEA SALT for 7 days/nights. Of course, there are several of them that you can't do this to or you'll ruin them like Angelite, Celestite, Selenite, etc., so you'll need to look up in a book like the Crystal Bible or the The Big Book of Stones whether or not your particular crystal or stone can handle this.

I did it to all mine and it was amazing how much lighter they felt and looked, some even turning from a muddy brownness to a milky white or clearer appearance. I'm not kidding! So I can't recommend it highly enough! Once you have cleared them of their old programming, you don't need to do this again, unless you have re-programmed them to do something else, and it also removes all negative energy from them.

If you are Reiki attuned to Level II and above, you can use the Reiki symbols to do all of this also. Crystals and stones absorb energies from their surrounding, their like sponges. Just sitting around in your space, wearing them, hanging around in bins in shops, or other people touching them causes them to pick up negative energy and programming, so this is really very very important and necessary to do. I've also found that placing them in the soil of an indoor potted plant for several days also removes their old programming, but they have to sit their a lot longer for all the negative energy they have absorbed to be cleared.

If you crystal or stone is one that can't be soaked in the water solution mentioned above, you may be able to bury it in sea salt or in soil (if you're in the kind of climate I'm in, the only soil available to you from November to Mach or later, is in your indoor pots). Or you can use Reiki and Reiki symbols to do it.

The other day, I got a post from another Reiki Master Teacher about "The 10 Rules of Reiki" and thought to myself - there are rules, really, in Reiki?

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
One of the things I love about Reiki is that there are really very few rules. Sure there are things you should do and things you shouldn't do, but I never thought of them as "rules". To me the word "rules" brings to mind a mom, with one hand on one hip and another hand extended out towards you with a pointed finger, wagging it at you for walking into the house with muddy shoes on, or hitting your sister. Where does that fit in with the gently, spiritual, healing and divine energy that is Reiki?.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
So here is what I came up with:

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
1) Reiki is always performed on someone fulled clothed.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
2) Your fingers should be close together and your hands slightly cupped when you are administering Reiki to someone or yourself. (Fingers open, energy is dispersed out in all directs, fingers close together, energy is focused).

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
3) You have to be attuned "in person" by a certified Reiki Master Teacher in order to channel Reiki. Some folks get what is called "distant attunements", but I feel, as do many others, that there is something missing with that.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
4) You go through a 21 to 30 day detox after every level of attunement (there are generally 3 levels of Reiki training, some lineages, like mine, have four). This is the sacred ceremony that connects one to the energy so that they can channel it.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
5) Reiki is a "hands on" healing modality but we don't touch in private areas, we hover our hands above the body over these areas, working in the energy field.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
6) Reiki is an intelligent energy, it knows where to go and what to do, no matter where the practitioner puts their hands.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
7) Reiki has a built in safety mechanism as it is a on way flow of energy - you are fully protected while you are giving Reiki, unless you are fearful or think that it's your job to take on the suffering of others, then you can cancel out the built in safety of it.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
8) Anybody can become Reiki, no matter what sex they are, what religion, age, color or fitness level. It's not a cult or a religion - we welcome everyone.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
9) Reiki was created by a Japanese Buddhist in the early 1900's by a man named Mikao Usui who was later awarded the title of "Dr." after he healed over 4,000 people following one of the most devastating earthquakes in the history of Tokyo by the Meiji Emperor of the time.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
10) Reiki can do no harm.

<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; border: 0px; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.701961); font-family: "Source Serif Pro", serif; font-size: 21px; font-stretch: inherit; font-variant-numeric: inherit; line-height: 32px; margin-bottom: 3.2rem; margin-top: 3.2rem; outline: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
I could probably keep going and come up with a few more, but I feel and teach that REIKI will TEACH you! It's a teacher's job to give you the basics, make sure you are doing the techniques correctly and then let you loose. There should be no rigid following of set patterns of treatment, or time limitations, or even whether or not you just "turn Reiki on" by holding up your hands and saying "Reiki On" or you follow a long and complex Invocation before you can channel Reiki. The adage "KISS" applies!
